Breast Cancer is the leading cause of death for New Zealand women under the age of 65
More than 3,700 New Zealanders are diagnosed with breast cancer every year
Over 30% of women eligible for free breast screening are not taking part
Temporary pink label
Although our label looks like we may have launched a new flavour, it’s still the same extra virgin cold pressed rapeseed oil that has become one of New Zealands most popular cooking oils.
The pink ribbon branding is a limited edition that will run for the month of October to help raise awareness for breast cancer and support the Breast Cancer Foundation by donating $1 for every bottle sold.

Locally grown and cold pressed
Grown in the South Island of New Zealand, premium rapeseed and sunflower seeds are cold pressed in Rolleston where the precious oil is extracted and bottled.

50% less saturated fat than olive oil
The Good Oil contains 7% saturated fat. This equates to 6g of saturated fat per 100ml, which is half the amount of saturated fat that is in olive oil.

Yes! The Good Oil is a naturally healthy choice, rich in monounsaturated fats, which are known for supporting heart health by maintaining good cholesterol (HDL) and reducing bad cholesterol (LDL). Unlike refined oils, The Good Oil is cold-pressed, meaning no heat or chemicals are used in extraction, preserving its natural nutrients.
Our Extra Virgin Rapeseed Oil is a great source of plant-based omega-3 (ALA), which supports brain and heart health. Meanwhile, our Extra Virgin High Oleic Sunflower Oil is naturally high in vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
Both oils are made from carefully selected high oleic varieties, meaning they contain more stable monounsaturated fats and fewer polyunsaturated fats, making them ideal for cooking while maintaining their quality over time.
Yes, our oils are 100% pure and natural, with no additives, preservatives, or chemicals used in the process.
The Good Oil is available at most major supermarkets across New Zealand, including Woolworths, Fresh Choice, New World, Pak’nSave and Farro Fresh.
Yes, similarly to Extra Virgin (Cold Pressed) Olive Oils, The Good Oil is a high quality, healthy everyday cooking oil which is great for salads and dips. The Good Oil also has a higher smoke point than your typical Olive Oil which makes it perfect for BBQ’s, frying and roasting.
The extra virgin rapeseed oil has a delicate mildly nutty taste, delicate aroma which compliments other food flavours without overpowering and is richly golden in appearance. Making it the ideal oil for New Zealand’s diverse cooking styles.
Ideal for roasting, frying, dressings, baking and BBQ’s. Due to the premium high oleic seed and cold pressing process, The Good Oil maintains the delicious flavour through low to high temperatures – a versatile cooking oil perfect for everyday use.
Oleic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid. Using High Oleic oilseed, means the Good Oil has a higher monounsaturated fat content and which influences the heat stability of the oil and produces a higher smoke point with lower saturated & polyunsaturated fat content.
Cold pressed oils are healthier. By cold pressing our high oleic seeds we maintain naturally high amounts of vitamin E, less saturated fat and a higher smoke point which is a lot safer for your health when cooking.
From the start of the planting process, we have full oversight of the growing, cold pressing (using no added heat or chemicals) and bottling process which all takes place in New Zealand. The utmost care is taken throughout the whole supply chain producing an oil with exceptionally low saturated fat, no trans fat and a naturally rich source of vitamin E.
No, although the crops are related, the oils are quite different. Canola oil is also made from varieties of rapeseed, but The Good Oil is quite different from the typical canola oils commonly found on supermarket shelves.
We use a specially selected GE-free, high-oleic rapeseed variety grown in New Zealand, chosen for its naturally high monounsaturated fat content and cooking performance. Our variety originates from Europe, whereas canola varieties were originally developed in North America.
The oil is then cold-pressed without solvents or high heat, prioritising oil quality rather than maximum extraction. Much like the cold pressing used for extra virgin olive oil, this is a simple, gentle process. The oil is then filtered and bottled, rather than undergoing the additional refining processes commonly used for mass-market canola oils. So although they come from the same broader crop family, the variety, origin and way the oil is produced make The Good Oil quite different from commonly available canola oils.
