Good Oil, Great Cause: Supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ in 2023

At The Good Oil, we believe in the power of partnership and the difference it can make in the lives of others. That’s why we are pleased to announce that in 2023, we are once again supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ in their mission to combat breast cancer and support those impacted. We are immensely grateful to our loyal customers for their overwhelming support in 2022, which allowed us to donate more than $30,000 to this vital cause.

We have once again released a limited Pink Ribbon Edition of our Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil which is available in stores now. Throughout the month of October, for every 1L bottle of this special pink edition sold, we will donate $1 to BCFNZ. This campaign not only raises funds but also helps raise awareness about breast cancer, a disease that heavily impacts the lives of countless New Zealand women and their families.

Breast cancer is a significant health concern in New Zealand, with approximately 3,300 women diagnosed with the disease each year. The impact of breast cancer goes far beyond just the physical aspects. It affects the emotional and psychological well-being of the individuals and their loved ones. Over the past two decades, there has been a steady increase in the number of breast cancer diagnoses in New Zealand. This, in large part, can be attributed to more extensive screening efforts and earlier detection, a testament to the tireless work of organisations like the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

Despite the rising number of individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, there is a heartening statistic to highlight. Fatality rates experienced a remarkable 24% decrease between 1995 and 2005 and have remained stable ever since despite the increasing number of people diagnosed. This positive trend underscores the significance of early detection and the importance of the work being done at the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

The Breast Cancer Foundation NZ is dedicated to funding research, providing education, and offering support to Kiwi women facing breast cancer. They work tirelessly to improve early detection methods, develop better treatments, and ultimately, find a cure. By supporting their cause, we contribute to these critical efforts that can save lives and improve the quality of life for those affected by breast cancer.
